Have you ever wondered what makes a neighbourhood feel welcoming, connected, and alive?
Our partner, Inhabit Place, is looking for friendly and observant locals to join a short-term paid project at the Flour Mill in late May as Place Auditors.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping better public spaces and stronger communities, while getting paid to spend time in your own neighbourhood.
What does a Place Auditor do?
As a Place Auditor, you’ll spend time observing how people use public spaces at the Flour Mill and having casual conversations with community members about their experiences of the area.
The role is simple but incredibly valuable. The insights gathered help inform how places are designed, activated, and improved so they better support connection, wellbeing, and everyday community life.
You don’t need any prior experience in research, urban planning, or community engagement. The most important qualities are curiosity, confidence, and a genuine interest in people and places.
What you’ll need
- A smartphone or tablet with touchscreen access and data/Wi-Fi
- Confidence chatting with people
- A willingness to observe and learn
- An interest in community life and public spaces
📚 Full training is provided, so you’ll be supported every step of the way.
The details
đź’° Pay rate: $31.19/hour + super (casual rate)
